What is the National Night Out Against Crime?
National Night Out Against Crime (NNO). NNO is a national event that is celebrated in thousands of communities' nation wide and in military bases around the world. It is an opportunity to bring families within the community together to meet and interact with one another. Each year, the National Night Out Against Crime and Drug Abuse is observed on the first Tuesday of August. The event fosters neighborhood cohesiveness and builds friendships. NNO promotes good communications between community leaders and law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency service workers, and other public servants who serve and protect our citizens every day. Ultimately, it is desirable that during this event, we come together to do a community betterment project, celebrate community, interact with law enforcement and local agencies, and unite.

National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer Beaumont. Plus, the benefits the community derives from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night.
